Supreme Court denies permission for BJP's Rath Yatra in West Bengal

In a major setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Supreme Court has today said that the West Bengal government's concerns over its planned Rath Yatra were "not unfounded", asking the party to seek fresh approval from the state. The court has however asked the state government to allow BJP's proposed public meetings and rallies under its "Ganatantra Bachao Yatra".
