Python caught in Thailand after eating over 20 chickens

This is the moment a rogue python responsible for eating at least 20 chicken in a three month killing spree was finally caught.

The 12ft long snake was seen slithering away from the coup after swallowing yet another creature on Wednesday morning (April 15).

Farmer Jutamas Kraipol, 28, called the emergence services to finally come and catch the reptile outside her home Mahasarakham, northeastern Thailand.

Footage shows the team rummaging through thick grass to lure out the serpent. They managed to drag it into the open and pin it down with a rod.

The farmer said she is sure that the same snake has been responsible for a spate of missing chickens over the last few months.

She said: "My brother went to cut some grass for our cows but he then rushed back in a panic. He was scared because he had seen the big snake.

"I called the rescue team as I'm sure it was the same snake that has been taking my chickens."

Jutamas said that 20 fully grown chickens had been killed and disappeared since the year began.

She said: "I was confused at first after a couple of my chicken were missing. There were just a few feathers left. I soon realised it was a snake but now I think the deaths will stop.''

The snake was captured and was put into the sack for the rescue team to release back into the wild at least 10 miles away.
