The entire country is struggling with the outbreak of Corona virus. To prevent the spread of the infection, the central government announced a nationwide lockdown and appealed to people to stay indoors, but some people did not mind these appeals. Something similar was seen in Madurai on 12 April, when hundreds of people gathered at the funeral procession of Jallikattu and the bulls attending religious visits.

कोरोना वायरस के प्रकोप से पूरा देश जूझ रहा है। संक्रमण को फैलने से रोकने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने देशव्यापी लॉकडाउन की घोषणा की और लोगों से घरों में रहने की अपील की, मगर कुछ लोगों पर इन अपीलों का कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ा। 12 अप्रैल को मदुरै में ऐसा ही कुछ देखने को मिला, जब जलीकट्टू और धार्मिक यात्राओं में शामिल होने वाले बैल के अंतिम संस्कार में सैकड़ों की तादाद में लोगों की भीड़ जुट गई।
