Muslims in Pakistan disregard limits on religious gatherings meant to slow spread of Covid-19

Many devout Muslims in Pakistan have been ignoring a government ban on religious gatherings of more than 5 people to halt the spread of the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. The disease had infected more than 5,900 people and killed at least 100 in Pakistan as of April 15, 2020. More than 60 per cent of the cases were reportedly linked to congregations, including groups of Muslims returning from pilgrimages in the Middle East.
