Most of the research done so far was related to the respiratory system, given the symptoms of infection. Now in some new research and studies, it has been tried to know whether the corona virus can harm the brain of the patient.

सार्स-कोव-2 के फैलने की शुरुआत जनवरी, 2020 में ही हुई है. ऐसे में इसको लेकर पहले से ना तो कोई शोध है और ना ही कोई कारगर इलाज है. लिहाजा, वैज्ञानिक लगातार कोरोना वायरस के बारे में ज्‍यादा से ज्‍यादा जानकारी इकट्ठा करने में जुटे हैं. शोधकर्ता दिनरात इसके हर पहलू को समझने के लिए शोध कर रहे हैं. संक्रमण के लक्षणों को देखते हुए अब तक किए जा रहे ज्‍यादातर शोध श्‍वसन तंत्र से संबंधित थे. अब कुछ नए शोध व अध्‍ययनों में ये जानने की कोशिश की गई है कि क्‍या कोरोना वायरस मरीज के दिमाग को भी नुकसान पहुंचा सकता है.
