Sanitising tunnel sprays vehicles passing through Thailand city

Volunteers built a disinfectant tunnel to sanitise road users passing through a city in Southern Thailand, amid COVID-19 fears.

Rescue foundation workers placed their DIY sanitising tunnel on the main road through Songkhla, southern Thailand.

Drivers had their cars and pickup trucks rinsed with the spray while motorcycle riders had to close their eyes as they went through.

The rescue foundation secretary, Charuwat Kwankue, said they wanted to help the government stop the pandemic.

He said: "We just do what we can to help the government stop the pandemic so we used this tunnel to help clean away any traces of the virus from the road users and their vehicles."
