Lotus root farmers trying to survive after losing crops to coronavirus lockdown in Wuhan, China
  • 4 years ago
An 11-week lockdown for the central Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the initial coronavirus outbreak, was lifted on April 8, 2020. But the lives of many people in the city are still far from back to normal, as measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 severely harmed  the economy. Among those picking up the pieces are lotus root farmers who have lost everything after customers couldn’t reach them and they had to abandon the harvest.
