Now, New York City teachers are banned from using Zoom for virtual teaching after the Department of Education cited safety and privacy concerns.
According to Business Insider, schools are instead being directed to use Microsoft Teams.
New York's education department has reportedly already started training teachers and staff to use the program.
Some critics say the platform isn't as attractive as Zoom, and could diminish some teachers' ability to deliver live lessons.
