The start of the IPL season had already been pushed back from March 29 until April 15 "as a precautionary measure" over the coronavirus. And IPL franchises have decided that they will have the next meeting only after the government comes up with a fresh advisory on April 14. Speaking to IANS, an official of one of the franchises said that it doesn't make any sense to have meetings when the future is uncertain, adding that there will be a clarity once the current lockdown ends and a fresh advisory is issued.

कोरोनावायरस ने पूरी दुनिया को अपने घुटनों पर झुका दिया है. इस लाइलाज बीमारी ने सभी लोगों को घर में कैद कर दिया है. लगभग 10 लाख से ज्यादा लोग इस वायरस से संक्रमित हो चुके हैं. और लाखों जानें जा चुकी है. आंकड़ा दिन ब दिन बढ़ते जा रहा है. कब रुकेगा किसी को नहीं पता. सरकार पूरी तरह से रोकथाम की कोशिश कर रही है. इस कारण जितने भी स्पोर्ट्स इवेंट्स होने वाले थे, वो कैंसिल या फिर आगे के लिए खिसका दिया गया है. 29 मार्च से आईपीएल भी शुरू होना था. लेकिन, कोरोना की वजह से 15 अप्रैल तक के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया. मीडिया रिपोर्टों के बीसीसीआई औऱ फ्रेंचाइजी को आईपीएल के भविष्य को लेकर फैसला करना है.
