In order to raise public awareness about the new coronavirus, Mexican police are using traditional Mariachi, one of the country’s most iconic musical genres. Officers in the southeastern state of Quintana Roo rewrote the lyrics of popular song, El Mariachi Loco (The crazy Mariachi), to tell their audience about how they can prevent Covid-19 from spreading using social distancing and frequent handwashing.
