To protect the poor from the economic impact of the 21-day nationwide lockdown, the Narendra Modi government today announced a ₹1.7 lakh crore Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Yojana. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the relief package includes direct benefit cash transfers, free LPG, grains and pulses for the poor while the middle class would be able to withdraw funds from their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account.

कोरोना वायरस से पस्त इकॉनमी को राहत देने के लिए वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने 1.70 लाख करोड़ के स्पेशल पैकेज का ऐलान किया है। 8 कैटिगरी में किसान, मनरेगा, गरीब विधवा-पेंशनर्स-दिव्यांग, जनधन योजना-उज्ज्वला स्कीम, सेल्फ हेल्प ग्रुप (वुमन), ऑर्गनाइज्ड सेक्टर वर्कर्स (EPFO), कंस्ट्रक्शन वर्कर्स को मिलेगा डीबीटी का लाभ।
