Covid-19: 125 new cases put tally at 553

Malaysia has recorded a three-digit increase in Covid-19 cases for the second day with 125 new infections, bringing the total to 553 cases, according to Health Minister Dr Adham Baba.

He said of these, 95 of the new cases could be traced to a tabligh gathering at Sri Petaling mosque which took place from Feb 27 to March 1.

As such, the total number of patients who participated in the gathering is 338.

Adham (above) said the number of patients in the intensive care unit and requiring the aid of a ventilator to breath have also increased from nine to 12.
