Charlie, a female Komodo dragon at the Chattanooga Zoo in Tennessee, is a new mom. The reptile has proven to be an independent mom after giving birth to 3 babies without a male partner. Charlie and a potential mate were placed together in hopes of breeding, but the first-time mom did it on her own. She produced three brothers, named Onyx, Jasper and Flint. The ability to produce her own hatchlings is through a phenomenon called parthenogenesis.
