The festival of colours, Holi is around the corner but shopkeepers are still waiting for customers at their shops in Ludhiana. The sales rate of Holi business is low due to growing fear of novel coronavirus, this year. One of the shopkeepers said, “Due to coronavirus, the market is a bit slow in Holi, this year. Customers are not coming to buy water guns and colours. Nothing is importing from China, this time because of the fear and even, we don’t have any Chinese item. Sales are very low.” The other one said, “The season is tardy this time because of the rumours of coronavirus. We have no Chinese items this year. People have false notion that we are selling Chinese colours but this is not true, we are selling colours purely made in India. Political views also affected the Holi market.” Few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal also announced that they will not play Holi this year due to growing cases of coronavirus. Death toll has risen to 3,282 worldwide, as per reported by WHO. The nation will celebrate Holi on March 9-10, this year.
