Adedeji Doherty, the Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has described the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Imo State governorship election as the worst decision ever made by any court of law in Nigeria.

The Supreme Court had last week Tuesday voided the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State.

A seven-man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, unanimously declared Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the March 9, 2019, governorship election and the validly elected governor of the state.

The verdict of the court had elicited varied reactions, one of which was the protests embarked upon by the PDP in different states of the country.
It was during the PDP protest in Lagos that the PDP chair, Doherty said that the decision of the apex court was the worst ever made.

He said, “The aim of this walk, protest, is to send a signal to the Supreme Court that we have an eagle eye on the Supreme Court. We cannot tolerate rascality in the Supreme Court, we cannot tolerate injustice coming out of the Supreme Court. This is the worst decision ever made by any court in the country.”
