Sonanchal's is well above the mineral wealth, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) has found about 3000 tons of gold ore at two places in Sonbhadra. With this, about one and a half thousand tons of gold can be extracted. Similarly, GSI has also discovered reserves of 90 tonnes of andalusite, nine tonnes of potash, 18.87 tonnes of iron ore and 1 million tonnes of sillaminite.

सोनांचल की कोख खनिज संपदा से लबालब है, भारतीय भू वैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण (जीएसआइ) ने सोनभद्र के दो स्थानों पर करीब तीन हजार टन सोने का अयस्क मिला है। इससे करीब डेढ़ हजार टन सोना निकाला जा सकेगा। इसी तरह जीएसआइ ने 90 टन एंडालुसाइट, नौ टन पोटाश, 18.87 टन लौह अयस्क व 10 लाख टन सिलेमिनाइट के भंडार की भी खोज की है।
