Dramatic footage shows Welsh river bursting banks after Storm Dennis rain

The River Taff in South Wales burst its banks today (February 16th) inundating streets in the village of Treforest, near Pontypridd.

Footage filmed at around 6 am local time showed the river swamping aa bridge and water flowing into the town.

"Around 6 am we woke up to sirens and went out to have a look and the river had burst its bank," said the filmer, who gave her name only as Jessica.

"We live on the opposite side of the river and are very nervous. I feel so concerned for the residents opposite us," she added.
