An elderly man swam across a river to bypass the blockade to get groceries from another village in eastern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province on February 7, shows an old man taking off his clothes before pushing them underneath the blockade.

He then walked to the riverside and jumped into the water to swim to the other side of it.

According to the witness, the man wanted to get some groceries from a market in a neighbourhood village.

However, the man did not cooperate with the temperature checking work amid the coronavirus outbreak so the village chief had to close the gate. The man then swam across the river to bypass the blockade.
