Five people injured in car and bus crash in Liverpool, SYDNEY

Five people have been injured in a horror crash between a car and a bus.

Eleven emergency workers - as well as a rescue helicopter - attended the crash on Memorial Avenue in Liverpool, western Sydney just after 11am on Saturday.

Three people in the car were injured including the male driver, a woman in her 20s and an elderly woman believed to be in her 70s, while on the bus, a 14-year-old boy and a woman believed to be in her 60s were hurt.
The bus driver was uninjured in the crash.

The three people in the car were taken to Liverpool Hospital, with the female passengers in a critical condition, and the male driver in a stable condition.
The injured 14-year-old boy was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, while the elderly bus passenger was taken to Liverpool Hospital, also in a stable condition.
'This is a horror crash on our wet roads today, with multiple patients in critical conditions. It was mayhem when paramedics arrived on scene,' he said.

'Paramedics did a great job getting to the scene quickly and working together to treat the multitude of patients.'

Mr Brotherhood said drivers to be extra cautious on the road during wet weather conditions.

'This is timely reminder for all road to be particularly vigilant in this wet weather,' he said.

'Accidents like this have the potential to be life-threatening.

'It takes one single thing to go wrong and your vehicle can become a weapon. Look after each other on the roads.'
