Excellent Review
Four of us went for dinner. The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood and offers valet parking. It has a gorgeous patio but this was still summer so we chose to sit inside. We shared three appetizers: bacon-wrapped quail, gulf coast beignets, and grilled octopus. All were excellent. As main dish, I had the pan roasted duck confit with potatoes and asparagus, and it was as good as it sounds. The profiteroles were also good, not the best I had but still very good. After this dinner, Backstreet Cafe is on my list of favorite restaurants in Houston!
