#MachuPicchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern #Peru, on a mountain ridge 2,430 metres (7,970 ft) above sea level.

Machu Picchu was built around 1450–1460. Most archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu was an estate for the #IncaEmperor. Often mistakenly referred to as the "Lost City of the Incas".

Machu Picchu got abandoned approximately in 1572; it was only used for 112 or 122 years. Some historian says that it was used only for 80 years before being abandoned seemingly due to destruction of the Spanish Conquests in other parts of #TheIncaEmpireRuins.

Over 1.4 Million Tourists Visit The Site In 2017. As Peru's most visited tourist attraction and major revenue generator, it is continually exposed to economic and commercial forces.
