Ace Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been replaced by Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar for India A’s tour of New Zealand on Saturday. Hardik has been replaced by Shankar after the flamboyant all-rounder failed a mandatory fitness test in Mumbai. Apparently the selectors had named Hardik in the squad without testing him in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2019-20 – a move that backfired on the day of fitness test. Shankar was named replacement and the Tamil Nadu skipper has already boarded the flight to New Zealand along with his India A teammates where the team is scheduled to play two 50-over three List-A and two four-day ‘Test’ matches against New Zealand A.
