Taco Bell Commits to
Sustainable Packaging by 2025.
Taco Bell recently announced their pledge to
convert all packaging into more eco-friendly options. .
In the next five years, all
consumer-facing packaging
will be either reusable,
recyclable or compostable. .
The packaging will also be completely free
of chemicals such as PFAS, phthalates and BPA. .
According to Missy Schaaphok, Taco Bell’s
global nutrition and sustainability manager,
the change will be “dramatic” but necessary. .
We want to ensure that convenience and
functionality are very top of mind when it
comes to our packaging … That will be a
dramatic change, but we want to ensure that
the . . . customers have the same experience,
but with the sustainability aspects in mind, Missy Schaaphok, via ‘Fast Company’.
Taco Bell plans to implement their packaging plan by
following the three R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle.
The company will reduce by consolidating packaging
elements, reuse by offering food baskets at dine-in locations, .
and recycle by installing recycling and composting
bins in all locations where it is permitted. .
We are working with our suppliers and
franchisees on our entire global system
to understand what we’re implementing,
where we want to benchmark, and then
how we can properly track our progress
and make those impacts every year, Missy Schaaphok, via ‘Fast Company’
