Dibakar Banerjee is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer and advertisement-filmmaker known for his work in Hindi films. He also runs his own film production company, Dibakar Banerjee Productions. As a filmmaker, he is known for Khosla Ka Ghosla, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, both of which won National Film Awards. His next film was the experimental Love Sex Aur Dhokha, followed by the political drama Shanghai and Bombay Talkies & Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!.

After the success of their previous collaboration ‘Lust Stories’, four directors - Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee, reunite for a brand new miniseries ‘Ghost Stories’.
Just like Lust Stories, the film will be a four-part mini series with four different plots, starring different characters and directed by different directors but centered around one common theme. The respective directors of Ghost Stories gave hints about the plots of their respective stories.
