Which Chinese zodiac sign will have the luckiest Year of the Rat? Our Lunar New Year predictions may shed a light

The Year of the Metal Rat starts from Chinese New Year on January 25, and is traditionally believed to be a year that brings new opportunities in the areas of love and earnings. STYLE speaks to Thierry Chow, a rising feng shui expert, who gives us her predictions for each of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs over the coming year.

Rat
Going into its own year, the rat will experience a year of Fan Tai Sui (which clashes with Tai Sui, the grand commander of the year) in 2020. Clashing with Tai Sui often represents misfortunes and bad luck. For people born in the year of the rat, this means they are looking at an unstable year loaded with changes and uncertainties in career, relationships and family life. The best way to draw positive energy and block the negative is by attending more joyful events (such as weddings or celebrations of any kind) and surrounding yourself with positive people.

Ox
The ox comes into a year of He Tai Sui (meaning a year of “union”). People with ox signs are, therefore, likely to experience a smooth and prosperous year, with many opportunities for joyful events such as finding good partnerships in career and love. To get the most out of this year, stay present and focused.

Tiger
Tiger people will see the Yi Ma Xing (“flying horse star” symbolising travel) come into their charts. Though it often brings opportunities to travel, it can also be an unstable year with a lot of movement (such as moving homes, changing jobs, etc). To stay on a steady course, keep a clear mind by meditating.

Rabbit
The rabbit is going to face a year of Xing Tai Sui, meaning a year of “trouble”. This is a shaky year for career and finance matters. Be mindful with work relationships, especially when it comes to colleagues and business partners. To draw more positive energy, it’s important to keep an eye on your surroundings.
