Australian Police Accuse 24 People
of Intentionally Setting Bushfires.
The New South Wales Police released a statement
on Monday regarding the charges.
Legal action has been taken against 183 people
for fire-related offenses since Nov. 8.
53 citizens have received cautions for failing to comply with the fire ban.
and 47 people are accused of discarding a lit cigarette
or match on land, according to the police statement.
So far, 24 people have died due
to the bushfires in Australia.
Almost 18 million acres of land
have been burned to date.
The fires have affected close to half a billion animals in New South Wales
