Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak today said he needed time to study the contents of an audio recording which allegedly depicted him conspiring with a prominent prosecutor.

"Saya terkejut (I am shocked by this) revelation. I am studying this revelation and I am studying the contents (of the audio clips).

Najib also suggested that the "timing" of the release was linked to the Kimanis by-election campaign.
