Taking a big decision, the Modi government has made Bipin Rawat, the Chief of the Army Staff, the first Chief of Defense Staff of the country i.e. CDS. The central government had increased the age limit for CDS posts. Bipin Rawat is retiring as Army Chief on 31 December. Meanwhile, Modi government has given him the post of CDS.

मोदी सरकार ने बड़ा फैसला लेते हुए थल सेनाध्यक्ष बिपिन रावत को देश का पहला चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ यानि सीडीएस बनाया है। केंद्र सरकार ने सीडीएस पोस्ट के लिए उम्र की सीमा बढ़ाई थी। बिपिन रावत 31 दिसंबर को सेनाध्यक्ष पद से रिटायर हो रहे हैं। इसी बीच उनको मोदी सरकार ने सीडीएस पद का जिम्मा दिया है।
