YouTube's New Update Gives Creators
More Control Over Copyright Issues.
The feature,
“Assisted Trim,”
lets creators edit
out claimed content.
The update also lets you see which
of your videos were hit with
copyright claims in Studio.
Issues like these often lead to a creator's media being blocked or demonetized.
Copyright strikes against any of
your content can be viewed
on the Studio dashboard too.
The features are meant to help creators deal with
intellectual property disputes in a more direct manner.
The update comes as conflicts between music labels, third-party affiliates and YouTube creators continue to persist.
We’re also providing more transparency about the content of the copyright takedown than ever before, now surfacing the specific description of the copyrighted work provided by the claimant in the takedown notice, TeamYouTube, via blog post.
YouTube adds that more updates to
help creators navigate copyright issues
will be available in 2020
