Audience and speakers exchange barbs at Jawi discussion

Members of the audience last night at a discussion between the United Chinese School Committees’ Association Dong Zong and representatives from the Education Ministry began to voice their dissatisfaction at the direction of the conversation.
Among the audience were members of Gabungan Seni Khat Action Team (Sekat), a group opposed to the teaching of Jawi in vernacular schools. They were urged against interrupting the event by modedrator, panelists and other audience members.
