In wake of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, the Uttar Pradesh administration has imposed Section 144 in the entire state as a preventive measure. Internet services suspended in 15 districts, including Agra, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr, "in anticipation of violent protests" against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) after Friday prayers at mosques. This December could be the second coldest in 118 years in Delhi if the average maximum temperature meets the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) estimation. Between 1901 and 2018, only four Decembers have had average maximum temperature below 20 degrees Celsius.

नागरिकता संशोधन कानून पर भड़की हिंसा के बाद यूपी के कई संवेदनशील जिलों में जुमे की नमाज को लेकर पुलिस प्रशासन अलर्ट है। उत्तर प्रदेश के 15 जिलों में इंटरनेट सेवा बंद कर दी गई है. वहीं सुरक्षा को सख्त कर दिया गया है. इस बीच मुस्लिम धर्मगुरुओं ने जुमे की नमाज से पहले शांति की अपील की है। दिल्ली समेत पूरा उत्तर भारत इन दिनों कड़ाके की सर्दी और शीतलहर की चपेट में हैं. दिल्ली में आज में आज मौसम का सबसे ठंडा दिन है. तापमान 4.2 डिग्री पर पहुंच गया है. 100 साल के बाद दूसरी बार दिसंबर सबसे सर्द रहा है. फिलहाल लोगों को सर्दी से राहत मिलती नहीं दिख रही है. मौसम विभाग ने तापमान में और गिरावट की चेतावनी दी है.
