What does the crime index number mean?
Index crimes are the eight crimes the FBI combines to produce its annual
crime index
The Eight crimes are divided into two categories: violent crime and property related crime. These 8 have been consistently studied across jurisdictions and have been reported each year for several years.
Murder;
Forcible Rape;
Robbery;
Aggravated Assault;
Arson;
Burglary;
Larceny-theft; and
Motor Vehicle Theft.
Just for info INDIA's crime index as per 2019 is 42.38
Highest : Venezuela : 84.86
Lowest : Qatar : 12
