‘A new chapter for Jharkhand will begin’: Hemant Soren as JMM surges in election trends

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's (JMM) chief Hemant Soren thanked the people of Jharkhand as his party was leading on 28 seats in the 81-member assembly in the state, adding that a new chapter will begin for the state from today. “Today a new chapter will begin for this state. I want to assure everyone that their hopes will not be broken irrespective of their caste, creed, religion and profession,” Soren told reporters in Ranchi after JMM-Congress-RJD alliance was looking set to form the government as the trio was leading on around 45 seats, above the 41-seat majority mark. Soren was leading from Barhait and Dumka assembly constituency. As per the Election Commission trends, the BJP was leading on 24 seats and Congress-JMM-RJD alliance on more than 45 seats. Counting of votes for Jharkhand Assembly polls is underway.
