A Patient explains about Total Hip Replacement Surgery & Recovery at VGM Ortho Centre

This 53 year old banker had severe hip pain which did not allow him to climb stairs, drive a two-wheeler and also perform his daily routines. It was found that his head of femur (hip bone) had reduced blood supply (avascular necrosis) and hence developed severe osteoarthritis of the hip joint. This was confirmed with Xrays and MRI.

After detailed counseling with him and his wife, he underwent Total Hip Relacement surgery two years ago. Today he goes for morning walks, drives his two-wheeler and commutes for his bank work independently and leads an active life.
