Amit Shah hits out at the Opposition and Delhi's AAP government

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said entire opposition is misleading the people of country on Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. “I reiterate that there is no question of taking away citizenship of any person from any minority community. There is no such provision in the bill, said Amit Shah in New Delhi. The Citizenship Act seeks to amend the definition of illegal immigrant for Hindu, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who lived in India without documentation till December 2014.


Home Minister Amit Shah hit out Delhi government over regularisation of over 1700 unauthorised colonies in the capital. He said the scheme got five years late because of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) opened portal on illegal colonies to apply for ownership right on December 16. Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Delhi in February 2020 to elect 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The term of the current assembly elected in 2015, will expire on 22 February 2020.
