Vaping Linked to Long-Term
Risk of Respiratory Disease.
A new study published in the
‘American Journal of Preventive
Medicine’ analyzed e-cigarette
use over a three-year period.
The study consisted of 32,320 adults in the United States with either pre-existing respiratory conditions or who used e-cigarettes or tobacco products. .
The data showed a significant link
between respiratory disease and
both current and former users,
even within the three-year span.
The odds of developing lung disease for the e-cigarette users was increased by about a factor of 1.3, and for the smokers it was about 1.6. If you're a dual user, it's 3.3, Senior Study Author Stanton Glantz.
Researchers are also in the early
stages of studying the impact of
e-cigarettes on lungs, heart,
blood vessels and brain
