What Made You Start Affiliate Marketing?

Hello, today I want to answer the question what made you start affiliate marketing? I'm a younger brother and I've always been more of an entrepreneur.
I've bounced around tons of jobs, but ran across a flyer at a college campus and this guy was talking about starting a business in a phone company.
Long story short it was a network marketing company. I made some money at it and I didn't mind get rejected at all.
In fact I somewhat enjoy getting rejected. This is a big part to having any type of business is dealing with rejection right?
This network marketing company we did all kinds of things to get customers from knocking on doors, talking to people on college, recruiting them, training them.
It was fun and very educational. I just enjoyed it.
Then I was introduced to a way to do network marketing using the telephone. I thought why not, more rejection sounds good.
Then I did tons of stuff with the telephone even creating my own scrips and trying sale various products and this was around the time there was training for the internet.
Using this internet thing to sale products. I was first introduced to someone from Ireland with a thick accent and we would write articles and try to sale health supplements through affilaite marketing.
I made some money, but it wasn't enough.
Then I started the Chris Farrell membership a long time ago and it was all about the list. The problem is I struggled with what to do with a list for a long time.
I experimented with other programs like Backlink Battleplan that helped me with SEO and getting things ranks.
But, I struggled for a while to make good money. I was introduced to someone from Jamie Lewis the singing marketer who I purchased his domain finder tool. I do domain investing as well, and really helped me out a lot on what the hell to do with a the list you create.
He is the best that I know of when it comes to taking that list and turning it into money using every technique and trick in the book.
Too me this really is everything in affiliate marketing. This is the entire business. Before I was doing everything different and wrong. This was why I was not making that much money.
What I really like about affiliate marketing is I don't invest that much energy into it and I still get good returns.
My goal is more freedom with time than money. It's also more of a labtop lifestyle than say consulting or network marketing.
Network marketing involves lots of training and what I found was that 99% of people don't do anything. Consulting is very similar to affiliate marketing but it takes a lot more of your time.
Right now I only do domains and affiliate marketing.
