Footage, filmed on Monday (December 9) in an Adelaide home, shows a dad's heartwarming reaction to being surprised with a new puppy for Christmas.

The filmer told Newsflare: "After moving cities, my dad misses our Australian shepherd dog who used to live with them more than anything.

"He denied he would ever get a puppy of their own but mum went out and organised it without him knowing.

"I never expected him to react this way, it almost brought a tear to my eye seeing the happiness it brought him!"
