A group of pro-democracy activists climbed to the peak of Hong Kong's second-tallest mountain before daybreak on Sunday, as huge crowds gather for a march which coincides with the six-month anniversary of the city's current protest movement.
The group gathered shortly after midnight to embark on their hike to Lantau Peak, also known as Phoenix Mountain, to catch the sunrise at the 943-metre tall summit known for stunning views at daybreak. The demonstration is billed to echo the popular protest anthem 'Glory to Hong Kong', in which the chorus goes 'The dawn has come, liberate our Hong Kong'.
