“Was there a ‘quid pro quo?’” Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland — a close Trump ally and longtime GOP donor — said in his opening remarks to the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday. “The answer is yes.” Sondland went on to tell House impeachment investigators that he worked with President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani who pressed the demand that Ukraine publicly announce an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who worked for Burisma Holdings.
