Constantine, one of the oldest cities in the world (pronounced /kɔ̃.stɑ̃.tin/), (in Arabic: قسنطينة,in Algerian Arabic: Qsentina), is a municipality in northeastern Algeria, the capital of the wilaya of Constantine. With more than 448,000 inhabitants, this metropolis is the third most populated city in the country. The Grand Constantine extends over a radius of about fifteen kilometres in the form of an agglomeration comprising a mother city and a series of satellites.
