Typhoon Kalmaegi brought strong winds and huge waves to the province of Cagayan, Philippines where it is set to make landfall later on Tuesday (November 19).

The rough weather has paralyzed the fishing industry in the area and brought families to evacuation centers.

Earlier this month, typhoon Nakri has placed the Cagayan province under a state of calamity and relief operations are still ongoing.

Kalmaegi is set to make landfall in Cagayan today. Some 5,000 people have been evacuated in northern Philippines ahead of the arrival of typhoon Kalmaegi.

The typhoon was located at 7 a.m. on Tuesday 110 km east of the town of Calayan in Cagayan.
