Kashmir's Srinagar Budgam train service reopens after months of closure
  • 4 years ago
Rail services between Srinagar and Budgam in Jammu and Kashmir have been formally re-opened to the public.

They were shut on 7 August, when the Indian government removed Jammu and Kashmir's special constitutional status.

Fearing resistance to that decision, the government cut off many transport and communications links, which have only gradually been restored since.
