Addiction to shopping fuelled by online retailing should be classed as a mental health condition, psychiatrists claim. Researchers say they can pinpoint distinct symptoms and characteristics of the condition and say how it affects the mind. 'Buying-shopping disorder' (BSD) has been recognised for decades.Researchers said that about 5 per cent of adults in developed countries — more than 2.5 million Britons — had some form of buying-shopping disorder (BSD), an extreme form of craving.
