A kind-hearted villager rescued a bird stuck on a frozen river in northern China.

The heartwarming video, filmed in the city of Daxing'anling Prefecture in Heilongjiang Province on October 15, shows a man using a crowbar and a hammer to break the ice around the stuck bird.

After the man took the bird out of the frozen river, he also tried to remove the ice that was stuck on its feathers and took it inside a car to warm it up.

The villagers returned it to the wild after feeding it at home.
