Jimmy Carter Experiences ‘No
Complications’ During Brain Surgery.
On Nov. 12, Former President
Jimmy Carter underwent surgery
to relieve pressure on his brain. .
His procedure took place at the Emory
University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia,
and occurred with “no complications.”.
According to the Carter Center, the pressure
was caused by bleeding in his brain, which was
likely a result of the two falls he took in October. .
Because of Carter’s age, the falls resulted in
a subdural hematoma, which is commonly
associated with severe head injuries. .
A subdural hematoma can cause symptoms that range
from headaches and memory loss to seizures and paralysis. .
Despite this, Carter has still remained
active in recent weeks, attending Sunday
school and making public appearances.
Carter is currently in the hospital recovering
from his surgery and will remain there for
“as long as advisable for observation.”
