North Korea is furious over a planned joint military drill between South Korea and the United States,... calling it a declaration of confrontation.
In a statement carried by the North's state-run Korean Central News Agency on Wednesday,... an official from the North's foreign ministry claimed the drill,... if held,... would violate an agreement reached by the leaders of North Korea and the U.S. at their first summit in Singapore.
The statement came a day after officials in Seoul and Washington said they would skip their annual joint air exercise,... known as Vigilant Ace,... and instead hold a scaled-back drill.
