Chinese Premier Li Keqiang told Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that China plans to host a trilateral summit with the two countries and South Korea in Chengdu this December.
According to numerous Japanese media outlets, citing a senior government official, Li reportedly told Abe on the sidelines of ASEAN gatherings on Monday,... that cooperation between the three countries would "contribute to the world."
The annual meeting has been hindered by disagreements and conflicts between Japan and its neigboring countries.
Tokyo is seeing frosty ties with Seoul,... leaving the possibility of a summit in limbo.
The spokesperson for South Korea's top office told reporters earlier today that nothing has been finalized, but there are hopes of working together to improve bilateral relations.
