S. Korean Navy taking part in 12-day-long Pacific Reach exercise off Australia coast

South Korea's Navy is taking part in the Pacific Reach exercise... a multinational submarine rescue exercise aimed at improving salvage efforts in case of submarine accidents in foreign waters.
The Navy said Monday that it's deploying it 12-hundred ton Lee Sun Sin submarine to this year's exercise held for 12 days starting today off the coast of Australia.
Six countries South Korea, the U.S., Japan, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore are taking part.
The exercise, initiated in 2000, was held every two years, but is now is held every three years.
