Already now, farmers of all hydroponic agriculture are feeding their plants with CO2 whether by burning fuels using a simple gas burner, or any chemical reaction generating CO2. Please watch YouTube videos showing this activity.
All foods we eat are carbon compounds, without one exception, and this carbon comes from CO2 in air. We cannot eat any food unless it is a carbon compound, all our lives.
When we eat our foods, we do not return back to the atmosphere all CO2 we consumed, as decay of wastes is composed mainly of methane gas.
The truth the availability of CO2 already decreased. CO2 in air concentration increased from 320 ppm in 1968, to 415 ppm today, a 30 % increase. While human population increased from 3 to 7.5 billion, a 150 %. This means that every person in the year 1968 had a share twice as big as we have today, in getting his food out CO2 in air.
Most of the crops we need are cultivated in open air, while they need also extra CO2. Reducing CO2 in air will skyrocket foods prices; and our economies will be forced into dramatic recessions.
